Map of the South East part of Asia, according to Ptolemy, for illustrating...
A recreation of the historic cartographic foundation laid by Ptolemy. This map shows the primitve understanding of the southern portion of the continent of Asia as it was understood centuries prior. Full of interesting distortions such as a massive Sri Lanka (here \"Taprobana\"), looms off of the coast of a small India. A landbridge appears to connect southeast Asia, south to a polar landmass.
Condition is good with some soiling and repair, as well as a restored right margin. Image size is 12.5 inches x 21.25 inches with some outline color.
