An untitled 20th century gem Carmel and Montery. We know little of the artist and cartographer, save for the fact that he did a handful of maps and those have all revolved around the Californian city of Monterey. There is a familiarity with the subject matter that seems to be from a local's perspective, with not only the streets and roads denoted, but also where good hunting and trout fishing could be found. Giving both the rich history and the contemporary character it is surrounded with numerous vignettes of key historic buildings from Spanish, to Mexican, up to American times, stating at the top of the image, "Honoring the Memory of Fray Junipero Serra". At the bottom of the image, several insets focus on Big Sur Park and the "Single Span Bridges on the new $7,000,000 Drive".

A rarity that we haven't seen offered in a long while.

Condition is very good. Image size is 21 x 16 (inches).
