(New York – New York) Streets of Soho map and guide
Long before Art Spiegelman received the Pulitzer Prize for his biographical graphic novel Maus, and before he worked for The New Yorker, he did number of different art projects, when he was still a struggling artist/illustrator. One early instance is this map he produced with his wife, Francoise Mouly. A local bookseller had expressed the need for a map of the area, to help defer the constant questions of “where is the ...” and Art and Francoise went into production in December of 1977. It addressed everything from Stores and Services to Galleries and Performance Spaces. The cover artwork is by Art Spiegelman, and has the feel of his early illustrations.
Condition is good with this first edition map with some minor marginal tears. Image size is 25 x 10.5, full printed color
