(Niagara Falls - St. Lawrence) Chisholm's Panorama of the River St. Lawrence
First published in the 1850's, this long birdseye panorama by Waud is his earliest known work to be published in a book. This long extensive sketch reaches from Niagara Falls and the Thousand Islands all the way to Quebec city, noting the towns, roads and homes that dot the shoreline along the way. It's speculated that Waud did all the field work himself compiling everything including the vignette sketches of towns, buildings and people, from his journeys. This later edition includes some advertisements for hotels, as it had become quite the Summer resort area at the time. Condition is very good.
