(NJ.) A New Jerseyan's View Of The World, Hogan, 1978
It was a humorous reflex for Bill Hogan after he saw Saul Steinberg's famous cover and then ruminated on it for a bit. He omitted New Jersey. At least anything of interest, and in doing that it poked at Hogan who was a life long, born-and-raised, New Jersey boy. So with a quick hand he created his own view, and with a bit of a smirk showed it to a friend at the newspaper where he worked, and his friend thought it was a good response and said Hogan should submit it to NJ Monthly. And it was published. This is a fine instance of an artist at the time that was pulled into a bit of a cartographic dialogue over Steinberg's projection. Condition is good, has been backed with thin board, some scuffing at the top. Overall size is approximately 28 x 20 (inches)
