A fascinating map for the continent, not only in what it shows, but for its handling of speculation and the latest discoveries. It does note the American settlements on the East Coast, as well as the European possessions of the "Louisiana" territory, "Granada or New Mexico" and on the west coast "New Albion". The Pacific Northwest is simply identified as "Parts Unknown". In the US West a notation states, "To this Place the Barn. Lahontan traveld". Includes a number of native tribes as they were located at the time.
