Prior to the unification of the entire Italian peninsula, this map shows the situation of the northern Italian borders. At this time the Papal States reach from the environs of Rome to the coast and over to the Adriatic side, up to the River Po. The map details cities and towns as well as the major rivers and general topography. Two small insets show a "Skeleton Map of Italy" as well as a "Map shewing the Fortresses of the Great Quadrangle". Surrounded by a decorative border.

Condition is very good save for close margin on the upper right corner. Image size is approximately 9.5 x 12.5 (inches).
