While this different take on NYC is not signed or given attribution, we've typically only found it offered together with a similar sized, smaller version of the "View from 9th Ave.", which is also not signed. Stylistically it's a dead ringer for Steinberg's classic and utilizes the projection perfectly to show the "old money" view of NYC and its place in the world. If Steinberg's view from 9th Ave was for the average person, this is the counterpart for the other end of the social scale. Looking eastward from what might be the corner of 42nd & 5th (note the Chrysler Building in the distance on the left). We see a much more dense and neatly urban landscape with neighboring Queens being shown as a brown strip, becoming the green of Long Island, Brooklyn, Conn., etc. And aloft in the distance, looking back toward the old world, are the land masses of Ireland, England, France and Africa.  Condition is very good, issued on backing board. Overall size is approximately 17.75 x 14 (inches)
