While the map is focused on the "Old World", as the title states, this map of the world does include some of the latest theories as to the configuration of the rest of the continents and islands. Prior to the explorations of Capt. Cook and his men, the Pacific and its coasts still hold a lot of mysteries. For instance, the Pacific northwest coast of North America is treated honestly, and left blank. The Americas themselves are identified as "Atlantis Insula", one of a few maps to refer to the Americas as "Atlantis"
