Tallis produced some to the most decorative maps issued in the 19th century. All have baroque vignettes and unique ornate borders. The map of Overland Route to India is surrounded by eight small vignettes relating the land route to India including the mail crosssing the desert and scenes from Madras, Bombay, Aden, Malta, Gibraltar, and a post office in London. Shows The mail stream packet route, teh Marseilles Overland routes, The German Overland route, and the Euphrates route.
