(Pacific Northwest) Map of the United States Territory West of the Rocky Mountains Exhibiting the Various Trading Posts or Forts occupied by the British Hudsons Bay Company connected with the Western and North Western Fur Trade
At this time Oregon was jointly occupied by Britain and the United States. The Hudson's Bay Co. had moved aggressively into the region and the map was issued as part of a plea to Congress to act to encourage immigration in order to save the region from these interlopers. It is an excellent well engraved map and a reflection of knowledge at the time.
This example is in excellent condition. Image size is approximately 18 x 20 (inches),
