Published for the Matson Navigation Company this large enticing map draws you into the exotic world of the Pacific islands with vibrant color and great design. With departure points in San Francisco and Los Angeles, its a leisurely journey to Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji, then New Zealand, and finally the eastern coast of Australia. Full of senes of native islanders it is surrounded with a colorful border of fish, birds and all types of marine and tropical life. This stunning beauty has no attribution or note of the artist's name, but it looks to be the work of Eugene Savage who did illustrations for the Matson Lines from the 1930s -1950s. An incredible map.
Condition is good with professional restoration, some restored corner fold loss, and is backed. Overall size is approximately 38 x 26 (inches)
