Pictorial Map - Map of the United States of America
A beautiful pictorial map of the nation with pronounced historical boundaries for the 13 colonies, the Louisiana territory, Gadsden purchase, etc., but also shows key trails such as the Oregon Trail, Chisholm trail, and the Pony Express. Its real focus is musical, and throughout the map and its vignettes are the geographical inspirations for pieces of music. For instance the “Grand Canyon Suite” by Ferde Grofe is mentioned, or “Over the Rainbow” by Harold Arlen (eastern Kansas), “Swanee River” by Stephen Foster, amongst many others.
Condition is good though there is one small repair on the right edge, and light staining at the top right corner. Image size is 26.25 x 40.5 (inches).
