Poictesme
The famous Virginia writer, James Branch Cabell, based many of his novels in the fictional land of Poictesme. These novels include; Jurgen, A Comedy of Justice; Figures of the Earth, The High Place and The Silver Stallion. This is a map of this fictional land. Cabell was criticized and his work Jurgen banned for a short time on obscenity charges. The are some sexual allusions on the map but they are mild by the standards of today. Ideal for the many collectors of Cabell’s works.
