Poland A Military Autopsy
Done shorty after the invasion, this double page spread features a map of Poland centered with six additional maps showing the unfolding of German aggression. From September 1 to September 29, it is tragic illustration of how Poland became partitioned. Shows troop positions, major cities and roads, and the invasion that led to the "Puppet Poland" and Russian protectorate. Done by the great illustrator and cartographer Richard Edes Harrison in October of 1939.
