The impact of Captain Cook's explorations were vast at the time. They introduced new cultures, dismissed the existence of mythic continents, employeed the latest scientific methods, and laid the foundation for a new era of settlement and commerce. This print from the third and final expedition of Cook and his men was from a richly engraved French edition.

A depiction of a circle of Tongan man along with James Cook. They are watching 2 groups of men boxing, one with staves and the other with bare fists. Note the man who have climbed the tree to have a better view. Also note the 3 thatched roof homes in the background.

Condition is very good. Sheet size is 9 X 14 (inches).
