(Saratoga Springs - NY) Saratoga Springs 1927 - A Map By John Held Jr. Who Wishes He Had Never Started The Idea, John Held Jr., c. 1930
Far beyond Manhattan, and even beyond Albany there was the scenic town by the lake of Satatoga Springs, with springs, baths, horse tracks, and even an artist colony ("Yaddo"). This is another wonderfully loose treatment of the town and area which addresses the culture and points of interest with little focus on topographic accuracy, indeed a banner states "One of the charms of a map like this is, that nothing is any where near correct". Does note some of the historical points of interest ("Saratoga Battle Field", "Indian Relic"), but shows the bootlegger route of the "Canadian Ale Trunk Line", and the exit route of "Izzy an Moe - 1925" who busted speak easies and were famous for arresting patrons.
