In the Navajo spiritual tradition it is the Spiderwoman, a transcendent being that was charged to teach the Dine people how to weave. The Dine who live in now on a swath of land that reaches through most of the four corners states took the lessons of the Spiderwoman and made regional designs that draw form the natural resources. With a map at center noting the major towns and features, 13 different major styles of Navajo rug are shown with their point of origin. Condition is very good.
