When you travelled on the Mo.Pac and Iron Mountain Railways in the 1880's they issued a free newspaper that illustrated and discussed the lands you were traveling. Discussing development, land for sale, the agricultural potential and new infrastructure, it was a biased look at getting you to consider settlement. In the centerfold was a double page map that spanned from Cairo and St Louis to Laramie, Santa Fe and south to Laredo. This is a complete issue of the "Great South-West" newspaper, with some wear and fold separation to the cover sheet, but with inner contents in good condition.
