(Space Exploration - Lunar Orbit) Apollo - 8 Flight Plan, Crosse & Blackwell, 1969 This celebrates the mission that saw humans reach and orbit the moon for the first time in history. Indeed it was such a fantastical historic moment at the time that even British food promoters issued this set of images around the NASA mission, as the space race had captured imaginations not just on the Soviet or American sides, but around the world. This set of five color prints includes the classic image of earth from space taken by Frank Borman, as well as the three astronauts (Borman, Lovell & Anders) inside the capsule and at splashdown. The mission map sheet includes the seven day itinerary, the route traveled (over 230,000 miles), as well as the breakdown of the stages of the Saturn V launch vehicle that would propel them to their target. Condition and color are very good on all. Each sheet image measures approximately 14 x 19 (inches)
