(Space - Lunar) Apollo Lunar Orbit Chart (ALO) - Apollo Mission 8 - 1st And 10th Revolutions - 24 December 1968 Launch Date, D.O.D. - NASA, 1968
This is a chart for a human first. Imagine being one of the first humans to physically orbit around the moon, after generations of predecessors that looked to it as reference, a curiosity, and some regarded as a god, now you will float around it. This chart documents that the astronauts will indeed be the first to behold, with their own eyes, the far side of the moon which had only been remotely explored less than a decade prior. With a base map that depictions the cratered terrain, naming the larger feature, also includes reference for the "Direction Of Lunar Rotation", as well as the "Limit Of Earthshine", and the "Lunar Sunrise Terminator 10th Revolution". The mission indeed did complete the total of 10 orbits around the moon and safely return back to earth. This would also be the mission where astronaut William Anders would take his famous "Earthrise" photo.
