Map of Polomnaruva Showing Places of Historical Interest
A rare map in a pictorial style showing the sight and ruins of a portion of interior Sri Lanka. It was erected in the mid-600's A.D. and by the 10th century had become the capital for the king of the time. Over the centuries it fell from prominence and was engulfed by jungle. In 1901 it excavation and restoration began.
Condition is good, with strong color, but numerous fold splits and minor corner fold loss. Image size 17 x 23 (inches).
