An early wood block engraving of the continent touching on the substance and conjecture of the time for the mysterious Far East. While primitive, much can immediately be identified, and recognizable place names abound. Interestingly, while Japan is omitted, an archipelago of "7448" islands resides instead. A large decorative fish swims the Seas at the bottom with a double tailed mermaid nearby.
Condition is very good some light discoloration to the centerfold. Image size is 10.5 X 13.5 (inches).
