Tennessee
This is a very unusual map and the first edition. It shows Tennessee divided into counties and with many of the towns and rivers named. Western Tennessee is labeled Chickisaw Country. Throughout south central Tennessee is a "Cherokee Country" that reaches beyond into Georgia. The lands of the Tennessee Company that extend below Muscle Shoals are also shown. It is a sharp clear impression. Arrowsmith and Lewis were very skilled topographers but their material is very scarce. Condition is good with some soiling.
