The Northward Map of Truthful Tales
Our first encounter with this early Canadian focused pictorial map. Really it is a literary and historical map of the land, full of allusions to famous books from "Heralds of Empire" to "Ungava Bob" to "Trail of the Axe" and dozens more. It also includes some such notations south of the border in the US, as well as into "Seward's Folly" - Alaska. Done in a sketchy style, it is full of ornamentation and has a playful feel. A rarity.
Condition is good for this map which is dissected and laid on canvas. Image size is 11.5 x 16.5 (inches).
