(Thematic - Literary Latin America) The Literary Map of Latin America, Blake, 1988 From a series of literary maps for different regions, this by far is the most artistically stunning of the set. With the body of the map being laid out on a native parrot that has clenched a snake, there are layers of symbolism and inference. Spanning from Mexico, through Central America, to the farthest reaches of Argentina and Chile, this map captures some of the amazing literary talent throughout. Reflecting the tensions of the time when it was made, a vignette of a native woman and child flanked by men with guns well illustrates the conflicts throughout the region. Condition is very good. Image size is approximately 26.75 x 20(inches)
