(Thematic) South America Under The Axis Of The Heil With The Monroe Doctrine, John Groth, 1938
The visual argument is simple. In order to stop European colonialism, America would support just about any strong man, dictator that they could align with. The end result was that regional leaders in South America, in the end, would actually be more receptive to the dictators of Europe at the time, rather than the democracy America was supposedly supporting. In the end, John Groth's vignettes of fascism making in-roads into the continent were correct to a degree. Many of the worst in Nazi leadership did find cover in parts of South America after the war's end due to these prior rooted sympathies. Condition is good with some repairs and minor loss on the centerfold. Overall size is approximately 13.5 x 20.75 (inches)
