(Tibet) An artistic rendering of Central Tibet and outlying districts, showing sacred, natural & historic sites, Gangzey - Gold, 1991
When you look at the three major streams of Buddhism, it was Tibet that had a huge impact on the development of the Vajrayana branch of the faith. This map touches on some of the regional connections that Tibet has to this "diamond vehicle" of Buddhism that through rituals, meditation and mentorship could speed individuals to enlightenment. This map shows the many monasteries and towns, and points of interest from "Milarepa's Cave" and Mt Everest, across to Ladakh, the Nomads of the "Great Northern Wilderness", and over to Kham and Amdo. A beautiful take on the region done in a different style. Condition is very good. Image size is approximately 14.5 x 22 (inches)
