Colton's New Map of the State of Texas..., Colton, 1860 The Texas population tripled during the 1850's even though less than half the land area of the state had been occupied by the time this map was made in 1860. This map almost perfectly encapsulates that time of change, as Indian lands in the north and western portions of the state are no longer shown, but divided into four large counties, one unnamed. An inset for the panhandle does note some Comanche lands. Does show roads and railroads, as well as towns, major terrain and drainages. Condition is fair with the sporadic foxing, overall toning to the paper, and repairs to the centerfold. Image size is approximately 16.75 x 26 (inches) $290.00
