(TX) Map of the State of Texas..., Mitchell, 1869
This is a map issued not long after the end of the Civil War, and gives a good overview of the expansion and settlement of the state. Most of the towns were still in the east but there were some western settlements. The lands are described and the rivers and mountains indicated. Major roads and trails are shown in the western portion of the state. Two insets show the "Vicinity of Galveston City" and the panhandle of "Northern Texas" which is still shown as the home of native peoples.
Condition is very good, with good hand color. Image size is 8.5 x 11 (inches).
