(U.S.) A Map of the United States, Of America, with Part of the Adjoining Provinces, from the latest Authorities, Anon., c. 1810 A crisp engraving based on the work of Wilkinson, that shows a sense of the frontier once beyond the Appalachias. While states are mostly formed in the east, with cities, towns and familiar regional borders, on the other side of the mountains lay Kentucky, "Tenessee" and the great "Western Territory", the "Country of the Six Nations" and numerous native tribes. And further beyond the Mississippi River lay a brief and mostly featureless "Louisiana" territory. Condition is good with close margins, and some outline hand color. Image size is approximately 8.5 x 10.5 (inches)
