A map to illustrate some the travels of Isaac Weld, who spent time going from upper and lower Canada, down into young states of the U.S. While the frontier clearly lay beyond the Apallachia range for settlers, there are only three towns shown in the state of Kentucky, yet in the "Western Territory" (modern Ohio) we note at least ten identified towns with native names.
