It's not just the "Gold Rush 1849", or "Detroit Is World's Auto & Truck Producing Capital" and "First Atomic Bomb Exploded 1945" at White Sands in New Mexico. But there is a dark and more frank tone to regional events. On this map, a line is drawn to Chicago identifying it as the "Underworld Capital Prohibition In 1919 & Huge Bootleg Liquors Market Brings On Gangster Era". In Wyoming it states, "Whites Killed 7,500,000 Buffalo From 1872 to 1874". And while "Cyrus McCormick Invented The Reaper In 1831", just down the river in Memphis it shows how "Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King Assassinated". Just off the coast of Florida it shows the two outer space accomplishments tied to the nation as "Mankind First Stepped On The Moon July 20, 1969..." and "First Successful Landing On Mars Aug. 20, 1976 - U.S.A. Viking Mission". An interesting map to feature the contrasts that can be seen in the nation. Condition is very good. Overall size is approximately 29.75 x 38 (inches)
