(U.S.) the MapQuest Altas Internet-Powered Road Atlas, 2004
For those that might have missed their moment, MapQuest was one of the early online map resources that could give you destination directions, and offered maps online. Their strength online became apparent, and they were bought by the then titans of the online world, AOL. In a deal done in 1999, AOL paid $1.1 billion for MapQuest and began to absorb it into their services. This atlas is an interesting transitional artifact as consumers were still comfortable with the quick utility of a road atlas, and before the power of the smart phone age. This "Internet-Powered" atlas allowed you to type in page numbers or key numbers for maps and look at them online, if you needed to study out your driving directions. Condition is very good. 134 pages plus key. Overall size is approximately 15 x 10.75 (inches)
