(U.S. - thematic) Medical Events in North America, Cevcos (sp?)-Abbott Labs, 1950 When we think of modern medicine, and the amazing platform of living it has supplied, it's astounding to look at the strides taken in the last century or so. Here we see many quick vignettes summarizing greats like the Mayo brothers, Wallter Reed, Oliver W. Holmes, George Crile and many others, and it's barely scraping the surface. Does also mention key accomplishments that the lead physicians from the "First Important Surgical Use of Ether", "The First Kidney Excised", "Streptomycin Discovered" to the "American Crowbar Case" of 1848. Does include numerous modern figures of importance like George Minot (Nobel 1934), and Simon Flexner and his work, but we do not see any mention of his brother, Abraham Flexner, nor mention of his landmark report. A map to get absorbed in and send you off to studying one significant medical figure after another. A pinnacle for this type of thematic pictorial cartography, from the estate of an old physician who had it above his desk for at least half a century. Condition is very good, color is strong.
