A favorite for the early US. A crisp British engraving showing the latest on the nation, with great territorial boundaries. Not only does it show a primitive “District of Main”(Maine), but it also shows the extended Georgia territory, reaching to the Mississippi River, and the “The Western Territory” covering all of the land north of the Ohio river and east of the Mississippi River. Great for placenames and the latest settlements, it also includes a wealth of information for roads. Does show the ficticious islands of Lake Superior, with one divided between the US and Canadian possession. West of the Mississippi River is the Louisiana territory. A beautiful map in very good condition.
