An interesting early thematic map looking at the agricultural make-up of mid 19th century US. This map was brought to our attention by author and scholar Susan Schulten in her discussing early thematic maps, and indeed it paints a detailed picture of development of the nation. From Corn, Wheat and Barley to Tobacco and Sugar, and even Cattle, Pigs and Donkeys, this German published map handles a complex subject with fifteen small maps that address the regions of production by printed color.
Condition is good, with some light foxing. Overall size is approximately 10.5 x 24.75 (inches)
