(Washington D.C.) Plan of the City of Washington, in the Territory of Columbia, ceded by the States of Virginia and Maryland to the United States of America, and by them established as the Seat of their Government, after the Year 1800.
By the year 1800 Washington D.C. was to become the new established capital of the young nation, and this map provides a fine representation of what the now revised plan by Ellicott would look like. Ellicott realigned and straightened "Massachusetts Ave" and removed some plazas amongst other things and this became the foundation of the city's development. A rare early map for the city.
