From the Cerographic Missionary Atlas this map for the West does a great job for showing the latest configuration for territories, and specifically the situation of the many tribal lands throughout what is present day Kansas and Oklahoma. While a string of towns exist along the western borders of Missouri and Arkansas in the Indian Territory, a few towns and forts exist through eastern Kansas and Nebraska. A missionary station is shown about due west of Council Bluffs along the Platte.
