(West) Nebraska And Kanzas., Colton, 1857
It was a standard composition for showing the vast new territories of Nebraska and Kanzas that Colton began to use in 1855, and updated periodically to show the additions of new details, towns and even territories. But apparently, someone decided to update their edition of the map with some line work and water color of their own. Several later added lines reduce the Nebraska territory to make room for Dakota, and at the western edge of the territories they added in that rectangular shape for where Colorado would be added in 1861. Condition overall is good with some age toning to the sheet and marginal foxing. Image size is approximately 12 x 15 (inches)
