An uncommon map for the West, spanning from the Missouri River to the Pacific showing the large territories as they were, as well as the rivers, settlements, forts, native tribes and major trails (Oregon and Santa Fe trails). Just prior to the origination of Kansas and Nebraska, here two large territories span high plains from Texas to the Canadian border, named “the Indian Territory” and the “North West Territory.”
