A rare and desirable transitional map for the evolving western territories. Specifically, this is one of a handful of western maps that will label the new proto-territory of "Jefferson" that would encompass most of modern day eastern Colorado and some southern portions of Wyoming. Also shown is the diminished Washington territory which leaves behind a large unnamed territory east of Oregon, which on some other maps can be referred to as "Shoshone", prior to the creation of Idaho. Shows territories, counties, towns, proposed railroads, river and major terrain. Condition is good though there is some mild staining around California. Image size is approximately 12 x 10 (inches)
