A stunning decorative copperplate engraving from a Dutch map maker. With expansive decorative cartouches that surround the map, it shows the beasts and some of the cultures as they were seen at the time. Done prior to the explorations of Capt. Cook, and others that would bring defintion to the continents, so the Pacific Northwest of North America is absent. Likewise, conclusive exploration of Australia was yet to traspire so misunderstandings still remain.

Condition is very good attractive full hand color. Image size is 12.25 X 18 (inches)
