A.A.F. Equidistant Chart Centered Near Sverdlovsk, U.S.S.R.
A cold war chart, but this not centered on the U.S., but rather, Sverdlovsk, an industrial city in the U.S.S.R. With emanating rings that extend from the small Russian city, the relative sense of distance from London, Delhi or Tokyo becomes apparent immediately. The proximity of interior Russia doesn't seem near as remote, once its extracted from Mercator's projection and made relative to the rest of the globe by this projection.
Condition is good, with some soiling and staining in bottom sections. Image size is 21 x 19.75
