What else could you possbily want? It's not just the honest, articulate depiction of geography, but it's the layers of additional data, from major gyres and currents in the world's oceans to the extent of iceberg drift in the northern oceans, to insets for world winds, or magnetic declination. But its the transportation and communication layers that bring it the feel of being the optimal reference for its age. Colored lines trace the ocean routes from one side of the globe to the other ("Liverpool to Mauritius", "Sydney to S. Francisco") as well as what were becoming common routes ("London, Havre to New York") and even the telegraph lines are shown. Railroad lines across the continents are showns and identified. Condition is good save for some old dampstaining on the verso, with only a few points where staining crept through to the face. Printed color is strong. All 40 individual sheets are backed on original linen. Ex-libris stamps, but not obtrusive. Image size is approxiately 37 x 61 (inches)
