A fine large engraving of the best of what was known for the world. While the majority of continents immediately strike one as correct and identifiable, portions of Australia and North America still contain large distortions, missing coasts and hypothetical geography. North America shows a mythical river of the west that connects from the Great Lakes to the Pacific Ocean. Doesn't show even a hint of a southern polar continent.
Condition is very good, with a few old opening tears repaired. Image size is approximately 20 x 28 (inches).
