Transports Aériens Intercontinentaux.
A beautiful world map from one of the most intriguing cartographic artists, Luc Marie Bayle. With a successful career in the French Navy that included missions to China and Africa, he later was promoted to commander of the Navy for Polynesia in the 1950's. During this time continued to practice his art of drawing and painting, as well as tapestry. And in time began to do illustrations for poster and books. He later pursued an interest in film, and became a bit of a historian. Later in life, he would be inducted into the Académie de Marine
This beautiful world map made for the French airlines, Transports Aériens Intercontinentaux shows his fluid and whimsical ability and offers a fun view of the world and the airline's reach across the globe. An amazing map, by an amazing character.
