These lie preponderantly in the Northern Hemisphere which also contains 90% of the world's population." Done on a Polar Stereographic Projection that features a color relief, it would have felt like a very modern and innovative way to look at the world, though maybe not intuitive for generations raised on simple Mercator projection and double hemisphere world maps. But indeed, in the new age of air travel, and during the growing Cold War the issues of proximity to friend and foe changed as routes through the air, over the north pole for instance, we so much faster and less impenetrable. This is the first edition (fourth revision) of a new potential standard for how to view the world. Condition is good with some minor soiling and wear.
