Two hemispheric sheets that show the world mid 19th century, from one of the better British publishers at the time. Bold original hand color distinguishes European colonies, and the red that identifies British possessions is abundant across the globe. Around the world are the routes of explorers Capt Cook and Capt. Gore, as well as notations of recent expeditions in the North and South Pole. A handsome set of both hemispheres that could be matted and framed together quite nicely.
Condition is very good with some marginal soiling. Image size is approximately 14 x 13.5, on sheets that measure 15.25 x 19.25 (inches).
