Sometimes refered to as "Escape Maps" this cloth map was what was issued to pilots as they flew missions with the intention that if they were downed they could find their way to safety. This two sided "silk" is actually printed on nylon cloth and features the entirety of Italy with an inset for the nearby Italian-Swiss border on one side and an inset for Sicily on the other. Shows towns roads and railroads and some hydrography .
